Our disruptive product offering is a unique and first-of-its-kind electric propulsion system, combining Applied-Field Magnetoplasmadynamic thruster technology and high-temperature superconductors. This combination produces a highly efficient thruster which uses low-cost propellant, allowing for cheaper missions and shorter transfer times. We call this SUPREME technology, which is founded on 60 years of AF-MPD research heritage, with the inclusion of HTS and the latest cryogenic technology increasing the flight feasibility of the technology. It enables high thrust of several newtons, and a significant mass reduction for high-powered heavy weight satellites and cargo spacecraft – achieved with cheaper alternative propellants such as Argon, Ammonia, or Hydrogen. This technology is highly scalable and throttleable, giving it the flexibility to be applied to a variety of mission scenarios. This scalability allows applications on small satellites, where our propellant flexibility greatly reduces mission costs. This also makes us the prime choice for chemical/electric hybrid multi-mode propulsion systems, where our technology is unique in offering high Isp performance using propellants compatible with chemical systems. For a full electric telecommunication satellite, we can capture up to €10,000,000 of value due to launch and propellant costs savings. For cargo missions to the Moon and Mars, cost savings can reach up to €320,000,000 compared to today’s electric systems, and up to billions of euros compared to chemical propulsion, making such missions more feasible and economically attractive.
